12 Pages of 9 Playing Cards Each (to Be Printed One- or Two-Sided with Backs) = 104 Alphabet-Letter + 2 Info Cards

Pages:24

Who They’re For: Language Learners & Teachers, Developing Readers of English, Card-Players.

Why You Need Them: For each of the 26 letters of the English/Roman alphabet, 104 of these Alphabet-Letter Cards display upper– and lower-case block and cursive letters in clear fonts. Printed out back-to-back, their reverse sides will display two 52-card decks with 13 ranks of 4 suits each. Whether They’re used primarily to improve language skills or to teach card-game playing strategy, their two-sided design is ideally versatile.

What You’ll Do:

  1. For use in alphabet instruction only, extract the 6 pages 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 to print out one-sided. Use the cards for teaching/learning activities.

  2. To get two multi-purpose, multi-leveled decks of 52 playing cards each, download all 12 pages to print out back-to-back, flipped horizontally on their long edges. Cut apart the 108 letter + 2 information cards. Their reverse sides (the faces of a classic card deck) will all differ, of course.

  3. Follow (and/or vary) instructions for card games like those suggested in the Alphabet-Letter Cards AaAa-ZzZz Activity & Idea Book. But note that some games will either be easier or more confusing to play because of what their reverse sides reveal. On the other hand, turning over card layouts after finishing a game may reveal a “self- checking set of answers.” There are many intriguing possibilities for use of these unique materials.
