Who It’s For:  Beginning Language Learners Working on Varieties of Simple-Present Sentences with Phrasing for Timing & Existence   

Why You Need It: One kind of sentence structure beginners may encounter includes impersonal it (vs. there)—often used with expressions of time, dates, temperature, and existence / location.  These topics elicit plenty of vocabulary for learners to read and write.

[1] Read & understand a strip story about (futile) attempts to get together.  Match statements to illustrations and calendars.   

[2] Work with abbreviations and notations for days, months, dates; times in cities,  states; kinds of weather.   

[3] Review spelling of initial consonant sounds that might be confused.  Notice capitalization and punctuation.  Correct vocabulary in T/F statements.  Do a crossword puzzle.  Print or write sentences from dictation. Compare handwritten with printed content.
