Who It’s For: New & Novice Readers / Writers Practicing Present-Time Grammar with Vocabulary of Recreation.

Why You Need It: At some point in language-skills building, the targeted content will have to do with recreation / entertainment.  Here’s more simulated realia, followed by traditional exercises.

What You’ll / They’ll Do:

[1] Look over typical kinds of activities offered by city or college recreation programs.  Answer comprehension questions.  Fill out a pretend “application.” Match simplified objects—an invitation, a TV schedule, a coupon, a ticket, a movie ad, a radio-station guide—to their functions.

[2] For spelling practice, consider initial consonant clusters.  Keep or exchange vocabulary in sentences about recreation. Write info about your interests. Do a brief dictation.
